The Kro’s Nest establishment will now operate under a new name, Tube Station Pizza. All three locations, Gongti, Haidian and the North 3rd Ring location will all undergo name changes. While the signs for Kro’s Nest have already gone down, it may take a short while for the new name signage to appear above the establishments. Meanwhile, the Tube Station Bistro has changed its name to Tube Station Sandwich.

The change is not a surprise, as the dual owners of the Kro’s Nest enterprise, Olaf Kristoffer Bauer and Yuan Jie, had an epic dispute recently that resulted in Kristoffer leaving the enterprise. A full account of the drama as well as an epic and lengtly letter from a previous general manager at one of the Kro’s Nest locations can be found here.  To summarize, Yuan Jie recently pushed Olaf Kirstoffer and physically harassed him while at the restaurant, claiming to staff that Kristoffer had left the restaurant. Police were called in and Yuan Jie was detained. It appears there was more going on behind the scenes, as Yuan Jie’s bank accounts are full while Olaf Kirstoffer has lost all monies invested into the business.

There is no drama as interesting as real life drama, especially in a joint-enterprise such as the Kro’s Nest chain in Beijing.
